Yesterday yet another dear saint departed for heaven from our midst. I rejoice in seeing a man finish so well under a weight that made manifest the Holy Spirit in his life. While there is only one fruit of the Spirit it manifests itself in many ways...But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22, 23). It is the manifestation of longsuffering that I'm meditating on this morning. As I watched my dear brother in Christ go through the many trials associated with his dis-ease I marveled at his willingness to endure for the sake of those that would remain on earth. He wanted to be a witness and that made it worth it all (Romans 8:18). None of us seem to like longer goodbyes but sometimes there is great work being accomplished as departing saints are supernaturally enabled to witness in whatever state they're in (Phil 4:11-13).

My dear brother didn't walk on water here but he now walks in a place where the most precious things here are used for pavement. His righteousness and power came from Jesus Christ who he now sees face to face. It is not something any sinner deserves. The only way the earthbound can show that they are heaven-bound is by manifesting the Spirit that dwells in them. And that is what he did!
